Cookies,
in plain language.
This website uses technical cookies to work and, only if you accept them, analytics and advertising cookies. Here is the detail: which ones, what they do and how to change your mind.
The essentials, always
A handful of technical cookies keep the site standing: your language, security and your own decision about cookies.
Everything else, only if you agree
Analytics and advertising are not set until you allow them. If you decide nothing, they stay off.
You can change your mind
The “Cookie settings” button that closes this page reopens the panel and withdraws whatever you had granted.
Your inquiry stays out of this
What you write in the contact form never reaches any of these tools.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser so it can recognize it on later visits. This policy also covers equivalent technologies — browser local storage and tracking pixels — which are treated the same way even though technically they are not cookies.
On dacord.es they fall into three categories. Only the first is set without asking you.
| Category | What it does | Does it need your consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Remembering the language you choose, keeping the site secure and storing your cookie decision | No: exempt under art. 22.2 LSSI-CE |
| Analytics | Understanding which pages are read and how the site is used, in aggregate, in order to improve it | Yes, prior and revocable |
| Advertising | Measuring the results of campaigns on professional and social networks | Yes, prior and revocable |
Strictly necessary cookies
These are the ones that make the site work, which is why they cannot be switched off from the preferences panel. They do not identify you and are not used for any other purpose.
Two are our own: “dacord_lang” stores the language you pick in the selector, so you are not sent back to your browser language on every visit (one year); “dacord_consent” stores your decision on the other categories, so you are not asked again on every page (one year, in the browser’s local storage). To these are added any session-length cookies the hosting provider may need for security and load balancing.
These cookies are exempt from the prior consent requirement under article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE, as they are strictly necessary to provide the service you requested.
Analytics cookies
They make it possible to understand which content is read, from which country and on which type of device, always in aggregate figures. They inform what to publish and what to fix, not who you are.
They are managed through Google Tag Manager, which acts as a container. Google Analytics 4 sets “_ga” and “_ga_<identifier>” (two years); PostHog sets “ph_<identifier>_posthog” (one year).
They are not set until you accept this category, and they stop being set as soon as you withdraw consent.
Advertising cookies
They make it possible to measure how many people reach the site from a campaign on LinkedIn or Meta, and to avoid showing the same advertisement to someone who has already visited.
Meta sets “_fbp” (three months) and, if you arrive from an advertisement, “_fbc”. LinkedIn sets “bcookie”, “lidc”, “li_sugr” and “UserMatchHistory”, lasting from one day to one year depending on the cookie. These are also managed through Google Tag Manager.
This is the most intrusive of the three categories. The site works exactly the same if you refuse it.
How your consent is asked for and stored
The first time you arrive, a notice appears at the bottom of the screen with three options: accept everything, refuse everything that is not essential, or choose category by category. Until you decide, no analytics or advertising cookie is set.
Your decision is kept for one year in the browser where you made it. After that, or if you clear the site data, you are asked again. Because it is stored in the browser rather than on a server, you will need to decide again on each device you use.
Refusing restricts nothing: the whole site, including the articles and the CV, remains available.
How to change or withdraw your decision
At the end of this page you will find a “Cookie settings” button that reopens the preferences panel. The footer of every page links to this policy, so that control is always one click away. You may withdraw consent at any time and as easily as you gave it; doing so does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
Independently of that panel, your browser lets you block or delete cookies from its privacy settings — Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. The site will keep working normally if you do.
Third parties and international transfers
Analytics and advertising cookies are set by Google (Analytics and Tag Manager), PostHog, Meta and LinkedIn, which process that data under their own privacy policies. They only come into play if you have accepted the corresponding category.
Those providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. The transfer relies on the adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or, failing that, on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection by writing to pilar.prados@dacord.es, on the terms set out in the privacy policy.
Confidentiality of your inquiries
None of these tools receives the content of the contact form. What you write about a matter is not sent to Google, PostHog, Meta or LinkedIn, and is never used to target advertising.
Even so, please do not include confidential information about a specific matter in the form: once the conflict check is complete, an appropriate channel is opened.
Changes to this policy
If the tools or the purposes change, this policy is updated. Where the change affects a category subject to consent, you are asked again before anything is set. The date of the last update appears at the end of the page.
